This past week, Andrew Sears highlighted Dr. Who and its longevity as a SciFi property by using regeneration to bring in new actors to play the titular Doctor and offering different thematic approaches and narrative departures (and some retreads).

I like Matt Smith.
There is no best Doctor, because every Doctor has their ups and downs.
Is there one I like more than the others and would choose purely subjectively? Yes. And while I’d love to pick a woman (and it sadly wouldn’t be the Thirteenth Doctor, but the Fugitive Doctor instead), I’m going to go for Eleven.
I properly got into it with The End of Time and watched Matt Smith’s Doctor right from the off. Even if some of the storylines were a bit over the top, the sheer range of emotions he showed will stick with me forever.
